Love Bites...

In the words of Def Leppard:

Love bites, love bleeds
It's bringin' me to my knees
Love lives, love dies
It's no surprise
Love begs, love pleads
It's what I need

I've come to learn that in love, there is often pain...That sometimes in a leap, there's no going back. It's been a very long time since I felt the sting...that crushing pain in my heart...the constant lump in my throat...and trying to hold back tears that just won't seem to stop. It's impossible to explain, but I've come across some incredible quotes:

“The saddest love is to love someone, to know that they still want you, but the circumstances don’t let you have them.”
*
“Some of us think holding on makes us strong; but sometimes it is letting go.”
*
Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a teardrop.
*
Love that we can not have
is the one that last the longest,
hurts the deepest and feels the strongest.
*
I'm not supposed to love you, I'm not supposed to care, I'm not supposed to live my life wishing you were there. I'm not supposed to wonder where you are or what you do...I'm sorry I can't help myself, I'm in love with you.

*
If I never met you, I wouldn't like you. If I didn't like you, I wouldn't love you. If I didn't love you, I wouldn't miss you. But I did, I do, and I will.

*
See there's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.
-- Gretchen Kemp
*
This is my wish for you: Comfort on difficult days, smiles when sadness intrudes, rainbows to follow the clouds, laughter to kiss your lips, sunsets to warm your heart, hugs when spirits sag, beauty for your eyes to see, friendships to brighten your being, faith so that you can believe, confidence for when you doubt, courage to know yourself, patience to accept the truth, Love to complete your life.

*
What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.
-- Helen Keller
*
When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
-- Kahlil Gibran
*
Just so you know, there's a space that only you can fill. Just so you know, I loved you then, I guess I always will.

iTz Crabs for Chase...

Well...Can't believe my little sweetie is 12 yrs. old already!! Chase was really surprised with his new Dell Netbook!! He never expected that!! But he's really trying hard in school and we just wanted to get him something special (except now all the kids want one, LOL)...

After he opened his present...we all headed up to Colorado Springs to the iTz Family Fun Center...where Chase, his friend Mitch, Paige and Taylor had a blast for 90 minutes (well, okay...Taylor wasn't having that great of a time, but she sucked it up for Chase, LOL)...anyway, after all the fun we could stand at iTz...we headed over to Joe's Crab Shack for some yummy seafood!! Chase got Joe's Classic Steampot and I got the Old Bay one (of course, LOL)...anyway, I had steamed clams in mine and Chase just love them, so we ordered him a pound of clams to go with his meal!! Now of course, Taylor won't go near seafood of any kind with a ten foot pole...but once again, she did suck it up for Chase...but she had a hamburger, LOL!!

It was a great time and Chase had a blast!!!

Happy Birthday Sweet boy of mine!!! Loves & Hugs...

Marylu, Martinez Cafe and the Sunset...

Well...it was nice that Marylu and I got a chance to get together while she was in town visiting her family for Christmas! Always great to hit Martinez Cafe for the best chile rellenos in town, mmmm! Anyway...after lunch we decided to hit the Sunset and have a quick "New Year's" drink, yeah right, LOL!! Needless to say, our "quick" drink turned into an all afternoon affair. I called Jay and he and his buddies were just getting off work so they came and bought us some drinks...we had a really good time! Then Nolan came and had a drink with us, and back to PW to hit the Tumbleweed!!

Fun at Invesco at Mile High!

We were fortunate enough to get all 8 of the company season tickets for the Bronco's game on 1-03-2010 vs Kansas City Chiefs! So...we headed up to Denver Sunday morning around 10 am and arrived at our hotel where we met up with Clay and Tim , followed by John, Kim, Keith and his gf. We headed to Invesco field at 12:30 and got there around 1 pm! Luckily, we also had 2 parking passes so we didn't have to walk far to into the stadium. The high that day was only about 35 degrees and by the end of the game, I'm sure it had dipped down below freezing. Of course the Broncos lost, but we all had a blast anyway! The beer and shots were flowing so no time to be cold, LOL!

After the game, John, Kim, Keith and his gf headed back home and Clay, Tim, Nolan and I headed to Benihana's where we had an awesome meal complete with saki bombs to top it off! After that...off to a sports bar near the hotel where we had a couple drinks and fun! We spent the night in Denver and came home Monday afternoon!

Can't wait for the next event. Bullriders only is coming up real soon, but not sure if we're going to that one or if we'll wait for the professional bullriders in May! I'm also itching to go to a concert...it's almost been a year since we saw Jack's Mannequin (for the 3rd time, LOL) and I've heard rumors that Something Corporate is going back on tour (oh how I'd love to see them). The Colorado State Fair should be announcing their concert line up pretty soon...so maybe they'll have someone good this year!

Anyway, here's the gang...

Christmas 2009...

Well...December was a crazy month no doubt (it always is), but this year has far surpassed all others on the craziness scale. One week before Christmas...Dad is admitted into the hospital with and infection of unknown origin. All they know for sure is that his white blood cell count is off the charts and he is just plain sick as a dog. In the effort to locate the infection, Dad underwent a battery of tests from blood work, ultrasounds, ct scans, xrays, etc...Durning the ct scan, there were "spots" seen on his liver. The preliminary u/s indicated that the spots were not liquid, but rather "solid" masses. Of course hearing this news made my heart stop (for about 5 days)...They did ultimately biopsy those spots, but they turned out to be old sutures or surgical mesh that had attached to his liver. After over a week of culture, nothing grew on them and they were eliminated as the source of the infection. Dad was released on xmas eve and while doing better, he's still on antibiotics and undergoing more tests to find the source of the infection.

All the while this is going on, Jim's flight home was cancelled due to the northeastern blizzard. He was fortunate enough to get a flight out on the 22nd, but that drastically cut down our visit and he had to leave a day early as well. I was so happy to see him...but disappointed that the visit was so short. We had a great time and he's doing so well. He seems so grown up now...

Christmas eve was spent at Kenny & Kathy's house as usual. It was a lot of fun! They had Chicken and Pasta and there were plenty of beers and laughs!!

Christmas morning the kids woke us up around 8 am and they opened gifts. I cooked the infamous hashbrown casserole and we had a great brunch! For Christmas dinner I made a prime rib with mashed potatoes, salad and fresh greenbeans! I also made about 4 dozen Pizzelles. After dinner, Tyler and Tony's mom Kathy P and her bf came over for a visit. She was here visiting from Las Vegas...so then Mike invited his mom and dad to come and we had a little reunion of sorts. Our kids have all been friends for about 16 yrs! It was nice to get together with everyone!

Saturday (day after xmas), Krystal, Rick, the grand kids, Jay and Terez all came out to celebrate xmas! I made two huge pans of lasagna, salad and garlic bread...it was yummy and we all had a great time!!

The 29th we had to drive Jimmy back to Denver (DIA) to catch his plane home. In one picture there is a distant view of Denver International Airport. It's always so much fun when we pick up Jimmy at the airport, but the day we have to take him back is always extremely sad and emotional for me. After we got Jim delivered...we stopped in Castle Rock and had an early dinner. The kids were goofy and that cheered me up some! Still miss him though...

Most of the pics are in reverse order so just follow the dates on the pics...
