It's 3 days post-op!!

And...I finally got a shower (and boy did it feel good, LOL)!! I've gotten rid of all traces of tape (except for the steri-strips) and so the itching has improved. I've been able to go 6 hrs between pain pills and the bruising is starting to subside. I go back on Tues. to see Dr. K and I think they're going to remove the steri-strips then as well. I still have a lot of swelling and such...but I can't wait to see the end result in about 4 to 6 wks!!

The "girls" have officially moved uptown...

Yesterday was my mastopexy surgery. It took about 4 hours! I haven't seen them yet as I'm not suppose to take the dressings off yet. I've got another appt. later this morning and hopefully they will change the bandages cause whatever's in there, itches something terrible. So far, the pain has been quite managable...I would describe it more as being "uncomfortable" than super painful...plus, I've got a steady supply of Percocet...so that helps a little, LOL !! I did take some "before" pics and as soon as the girls are healed up, I'll be taking some "after" pics as well!!

I'm just so happy that this is done now and I can move on/concentrate on other things!!

Something in the air today...

Well...we (Nolan and I) spent the entire afternoon in the ER! Here's the story...

Nolan's been having "chest pain" since Saturday. I've been "trying" to get him to go in and have it checked (he's almost 56 yrs old)...well, you know how "men" are and he would not go...kept saying he thought maybe he had just pulled a muscle in his chest...so okay fine, he calls me this morning and says that maybe I should go ahead and make him an appt. to see our family doctor...so I do (Thurs. 3 pm)...then a half hour later, he calls back and says that the pain is worst and maybe we should go ahead and go to the ER! Now I'm kinda freaking, cause if he's "requesting" I take him to the ER ...I know it must be pretty bad.
I have never seen our ER this packed and chaotic...however, with "chest pain" you're put in the back immediately (no triage). To make a long story as short as possible...all of the tests (ekg, chest xray, blood work, etc.) came back normal. Doctor is certain he's got a painfully "pulled muscle" in his chest...okay so he was right! But to me, better safe than sorry (and at Nolan's age, you just can't mess around with chest pain)...

Okay...now the "funny" part:

I think I know how he "pulled" his muscle...

If you read my blog entry about the fiasco last Friday night...then you know that we had a fight on the way home from the Tumble Weed. I was driving and he was mad and kicking the inside of my vehicle and blah, blah, blah...he said something mean and I told him if that's the way he felt, then to get out. I stopped the car and he got out. I went back to the TW for a few minutes then I headed back home (this is all only within 2 miles from home)...so I'm driving down the street where I let him off and I'm not seeing him (I'm thinking he's going to be walking home)...I reach the turn to go down our street and I still haven't seen him. So....I call him and ask him where the hell he is...he says "somewhere on the golfcourse". Well...there are no street lights out here (we're rural mostly accept for the golf course area which is where we live, but still no street lights)...anyway, it's pitch black out on the course and between not being able to see any landmarks and having wayyyyyyy too much to drink...he was basically lost on the GC. I can't very well start driving around on the GC...but within a few minutes, he found the clubhouse, so I picked him up there. What I didn't find out until the next day was (now don't laugh), he fell into a sand trap and couldn't get out ...anyway, I think he "pulled" something when he kept sliding and falling in the sand trap (it was slick and icy)...sorry, I'm cracking up just thinking "I've fallen and I can't get up"!!!
So there you have it! His heart is healthy as a horse (very good to know) and he will keep his appt. for tomorrow and get a few more things checked out with our doctor!

That's the long and short of it!!

Krystal and Jay came up to the hospital and Jimmy called. Tim also came up which I thought was really sweet. He handled all the work stuff the rest of the afternoon. We came home and watched a movie (Couple's Retreat) til it was time to go to the church service. We are so blessed to have the wonderful "grown" children we have and also true-blue friends like Tim who would drop everything in a moment's notice to be there for you...

Anyway...while we were in the ER we saw:

* Don & Diane (our neighbors right across the street)...their 18 grand dd was admitted in a diabetic coma...
* Larry (from the TW) whose mom was in the ER for chest pains also...
* Our other neighbors Joe & Ginger, whose disabled nephew is having a tonsilectomy...

Yikes...saying lots of prayers tonight for our dear friends...and also prayer of thanks that Nolan is okay. Maybe "I'll" get some sleep tonight!

Ash Wednesday, a day for...

New beginnings, new directions and new "firsts"!! This is actually my very first "Ash Wednesday" (never been "ashed" before, LOL). It was nice...the service was really special and meaningful to me in a way I never imagined. I am actually excited for Easter now as it's really taken on a new meaning to me. For Lent...I've decided to give up one of my most favorite things in the world...

BEER!

Yeah...you read that right! I'm just really thankful that football season is over or else...I'd definitely be giving up something else. So...now Tim's already told me there's no way I can do this, blah, blah, blah...well, we'll just see about that! I know I can...and I will. This is important to me!

Anyway...the evening started with a Soup Supper! It was good and I was even able to put aside my "potluck" phobia so I could enjoy it! We didn't bring the kids tonight...but Michelle and Courtney were there (Lee was "working late", hmmmmm...) and we also saw Tammy, Ed and Nancy! In fact, we all sat together...seems odd at times that we'd be sitting with Nolan's ex wife, but if I have to have an "ex" wife in my life, I'm sure glad it's Tammy! We're very lucky and blessed that we all get along so well and I would really consider her a friend...

Nolan did not want to participate in the "Ash" ceremony, which is fine...to each their own! But I had to have him take my picture with my first "ashing", LOL ! It's kinda hard to tell from this picture cause my bangs are right over it...but if you click on the pic, it gets bigger and maybe you can see it then!

Do you ever wonder...

if sometimes BAD shit happens for a GOOD reason?? I do...more than ever now! After the fiasco last Friday night with John and Kim...I never thought that I might actually be grateful for the "crap" that they started. Lord knows how upset I was...but this whole thing has made me take a second look at my life and how I'm living it! I think that I've been having "fun" at any cost and to the exclusion of everything else.

My sweet baby daughter Paige (who's been attending church with my dear friend Michelle) was scheduled to light candles on Valentine's Day early church service. I had planned many weeks ago to attend it. Funny that I joked the night before that I'd be lucky if lightening didnt' strike me when I walked in...and yet, lucky for me...lightening did strike me yesterday. The whole service almost seemed like it was written about my life...and it really touched my heart. This Methodist church is very mellow, tame...and I think I can handle it (even though I may not subscribe to their exact doctrine)...it seems a nice place to spend a Sunday morning!

Strangely enough...they're currently looking for a part-time office administrator...so I sent in my resume. It would be a perfect job for me, especially now that I know the church isn't going to spontaneously combust upon my entrance, LOL! I'm hoping to hear something this week (please God, just an interview...I think I could handle it from there, LOL)! Even if I don't get the job...it was an enlightening experience and I think it was surely meant for me to be there!

So...thank you Kim and John for the wake up call! Great job Paige!!

All hell breaks loose at the Tumble Weed!!

Okay...we weren't even suppose to go out Friday night...but, Nolan and I went out for our annual Valentine's lunch (late 2 pm ish)...Tim met us at Applebee's (we were going to go to Magpies, but they close down at 2 pm so we ended up at Applebees). Anyway we had a beer with Tim...then after we finished up there...we stopped at home for a minute (got the kids all lined out) then we headed up to the Tumble Weed. Seemingly...it was just another normal night at the TW as shown below...Janis and me...me and Steve (my new cutie patootie) and then Nolan and Janis...

soooooo....what went wrong you ask?? Well...our "friends" John, Kim and Keith showed up later that night...all is well (so far)...we weren't sitting at the same table...but we did all sing a little David Allen Coe...then while sitting at our table with Steve and Janis (minding our own business)...John decides to come over and start reading me the riot act of how I was "disrespecting" Nolan (never mind that just minutes before, John was whispering in my ear how much he "wants" me...whatever) anyway...as you might imagine...I was not too thrilled being cussed out at the bar in front of my friends, etc...so I had a few choice words for John (we took John, Kim and Keith to the Bronco game last month btw)...so then at some point Janis, Steve and I got up and went over to the juke box while John went back over to Nolan to apologize (yeah...another "whatever" in my book)...and on my return...I think I might have given him a few MORE choice words...then Kim turned around and added her 2 cents...OKAY...now I say, do you want to step outside Kim??? Let's go bitch!!! Okay...now this is so out of my character...honestly...I'm the easiest going...fun loving person at that bar...but this time, they crossed the line! Shit...I never knew how many fucking friends I had til all hell broke loose...next thing I know half the bitches in the bar got my back (thank you ladies)...but miss Kim was too chicken shit to step outside...she obviously talks the talk but can't walk the walk. Okay...then all calmed down a bit...til we got ready to leave that is...some shit was said as we were walking by....so we got all the way around the bar almost out the door when I decided to go back and give Kim a piece of my mind...Nolan grabbed my jacket to stop me...then we got into it and I told him to fucking let me go...the bartenders (Neil and Tom) come and try to stop me...I promise I'm not going to get physical...I just want to say what I have to say...so I walk back over there and I won't even say what that cunt called me, but...ummmmmmm, she best hope she never runs into me in a dark alley cause I will mess her shit up! Okay...we then get out the door...and I'm pissed. I'm pissed cause Nolan SHOULD have put her and John in their place (aka: stood up for me) and he didn't. We get in the car...I'm driving....we get half way home...and he's talking shit and kickin' the inside of my vehicle...I pulled over and told him to get the fuck out! I drove off toward home...then turned around and headed back to the TW. Tom was not happy to see me come back in the bar...he took me right back outside tried to calm me down, etc...finally went along my way. Now I gotta find Nolan (who I left on the side of the road)...I drive all along that road and he's no where to be found...call his cell...he's somewhere in the golf course WTF??? I finally got to the clubhouse ande he met me there...and the fight con't the rest of the way home and after we got home. We have one less pantry door and God only knows what else was fucking broke/damaged in this rampage. I think we've resolved things now...but shit...today's the fucking 13th so who knows, LOL! I'm staying home tonight...no more conflict please...

Paige's Valentine's Party...

We had Paige's class Valentine's Party on the 11th...we had lil' smokies, cheddar cheese, vegie tray/dip, cookies, cupcakes and root beer floats!! The kids had a blast!!!

For some reason...

I just can't seem to get this song out of my head...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPPX6dZT0Vw
Okay...given the events of the last few days...this song just seems to "fit"...also, near the end of the song there's one "censored" word, but it starts with "F" and ends with "K" and I think the "Jordan" in this case knows who "SHE" is!!!

The "girls" are headed uptown!!

Well...the boobies that is, LOL!! After 4 long years of "thinking"...I've finally decided to go ahead with the mastoplexy (breast lift)! I have/had been waivering back and forth between having the lift alone or with augmentation. My doctor feels I have "adequate" volume to do (and be satisfied) with just the lift alone...and that's my gut feeling as well. If I can avoid the implants...I'd just as well avoid them. Now...he says if I'm not happy with the results, we can always go back and do the implants later (he said he would wave his surgeon's fee)...so basically it wouldn't be anymore cost...just another week of pain, LOL!! Anyway...put down my deposit today (hurry up tax refund, LOL) and got all my pre-op stuff done as well. So....come the 24th, I'll have my 20 yr. old boobies back!! I will definitely be doing a before/after post...so if you're "faint at heart" or have a problem with naked women...you might not want to look!!LOL (.)(.)

My oldest "baby" girl is growing up...

What a pretty young lady (and tall too, LOL) my sweet Taylor is becoming!! This was before the "Sir West" dance!! Loves to my sweet girl!!

The Ultimate Spa Package...

Here is the basket I made for Paige's class' donation for the school auction! Nora was sweet enough to donate an hour's massaage and with that, it was easy (and inexpensive) to put together a basket. At Kohl's I found some stress relieving bath salts, a hot/cold neck wrap and 3 set thing of scented candles...then at Target, I got the relaxation CD and loopha! I'm thinking I could use a massage right about now and fully intend to bid on this one tomorrow night!!

Embarking on a new journey...

Well...after 7 months of applying with the school districts and not even getting an interview...I've decided to just "let it go"! I have been so determined to get a job with the school district, but I'm also a realist. Without an "inside" ace...I don't think I have a rat's ass of a choice of getting in without knowing someone higher up...and since I don't, then I surmise that it's time for the proverbial "Plan B" LOL!

So...as I had originally planned to do once all the kids were in school, I'm going to get my manicuring/nail tech license and start my own nail business! I've also started selling Avon recently and I'm hoping that the two ventures will combine nicely.

Anyway...it's freeing knowing that you are in charge of your own destiny!!

Fakes, Phonies and Big Butt Lickers...

I guess the title came to me when I thought of the movie called: Sex, Lies and Video Tapes...and what is the significance?? Well...I mostly just liked the way it sounded, LOL!! Or maybe it's "Snips, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails" LOL...but at any extent...it's something I cannot stand! If you cannot be "real", than you just shouldn't "be" at all...

I am blessed and oh so fortunate to have a "few" very true, real, genuine friends (online and in real life)...the type of friends that will hug ya when you're down even though you haven't showered for days...the kind of friends that love everything about you (the good, the bad and the ugly)...the type of friends that will drop everything in a New York minute if you need them...and for that, I am grateful!! I would rather have a select few "real" friends...and by "real", I'm talking...no bullshit, no sugar coating...no ass kissing people, but real, genuine folk than a hundred fakes and phonies! HAHA...that made me think of that "Wranglers" commercial (with Brett Favre)...and they say, Real, Comfortable, Jeans...well, I have Real, Comfortable, Friends...and to you friends (and YOU know who you are)...I love ya!!!

What a difference 3 Long Island Iced Teas makes...

Nuff said!! LOL
