Fitness Week 3...

Well, technically...it's week 4, but I missed a whole week when I was sick. Anyway...starting off this week with my treadmill up to 3 miles now (in 60.38 min.)...woohoo!! I got one set of stretches in as well. It really felt good! I'm starting to sweat...so I know that means fitness is happening...it's a good feeling. Now next week, I'll be bumping it up to 4 miles, 6 days a week. I know in order to complete my workout in an hour, I'm gonna have to do a little running in there. So I will figure in 2 min. wind sprints every 8 mins....that will give me 12 min. of running in that hour. I'm not sure how that will factor in to my time/distance...but I'll just tweak it as necessary! I think my Brooks have gotten more use in the last few weeks than in the whole year since I got them. They are sooooo comfortable. I still have my old Brooks (just can't part with them)...but anyway...there's the fitness update. Will be doing Wednesday Weigh Ins...so we'll see...hopefully the scale will be going down!

Miracles do happen, LOL...

Well...after a long 1 1/2 years...we are finally getting our entertainment room put back together!! Woo Hoo! After much consideration...we decided to go with the Pergo floor as opposed to putting carpet back in there. Since this is the room/space/area that kids use the most...it just seems more practical to have a hard floor in there. We came across a carpenter/handyman thru Mitchell's mom and while we purchased the materials...he's charging us about half for installation as Lowe's or Home Depot does...and for an extra $200, he's building the dividing wall...so where the pool table was is being walled off to provide a storage room for now and eventually it will be used as an office, spare room or exercise room. Anyway, I'm just so excited to finally have this done so we can utilize all this space and also to have it done so when we're ready to relist the house...we'll be ready to go...just one more thing to cross off the list!!

I'm still an LPN...

I've been looking into the possibility of getting my now "lapsed" Practical Nursing license re-activated. Since it's been almost 7 yrs since I last renewed (June 2002)...it's no easy fete to get it in "active" status again. It's approx. 120 hrs. of online "book" study (refresher course)...and 120 hrs. of clinical work (long term care facility) which I would be responsible for arranging. It's managable...but the cost is $1000. I also have to get cpr current, immunizations current, background check, proof of professional liability Insurance, etc...then after all is complete, you are issued a test by the local AHEC.

I would really like to get reinstated even if I never use it...but I'm just not sure if I have it in me. It's definitely something I'm going to think about and consider over the next year. However, whether I am active or not...I can still use my title of LPN!

The "Chasester" is 11 today!!

OMG...I can't believe my second little boy is already 11!! Seems like it was just yesterday that my due date came and went (due on the 18th) and at my OB appt. the next day...I begged Dr. Meeuwsen to send me over to the hospital and induce me...I was sooooo ready! He called over to make sure they had a bed (which they did) so he sent me over (I had my hospital bag in the car LOL). By the time I got over there, checked in and set up in bed it was about 11:30 am...Dr. M came in about Noon and broke my water (and they started the pitocin). He was born at 1:31 pm...and while the labor was relatively short, it was by far my most difficult and painful L&D...near the end I was begging for an epidural, but of course there was no time...in fact, Dr. M barely made it in time, LOL!! Chase had the most interesting cord...it was over 2 ft long and Dr. M said it ought to go in the Book of World Records, LOL. As he was straighten out the cord (to cut it) he literally backed out of the picture on the video (camara was set up on the side)...anyway, he was just an adorable baby...cute and chubby 8 lbs 3 oz!

Happy Birthday Chase!! I love you sweetie...

Feeling better...

Well...today is 48 hrs post meds...and I'm finally beginning to feel much better. My sore throat is history (knock on wood, LOL) and I'm starting to blow "clear" now (something I haven't seen for a while)...so I know that the worst is behind me... YAY!! Yuck, I hate being sick...it's not for me...and I'm excited about getting back to life as usual. I plan on getting back on my "dusty" treadmill tomorrow...I'm not going to push it, but I will just go on a gentle walk until I'm feeling 100%. I also have to get Chase's bday put together tomorrow...so, thank goodness I'm feeling better!

I forgot that Brunettes can have fun too!!

Well...I did make it in to the salon this morning, hacking all the way, LOL...anyway, Shelby put in some much needed low-lites and now I'm much darker only a few wisps of blond remain. I'm happy with it...makes my skin look better (not so washed out). I love being a little blond, but I have to be careful to not go too blond! I'll add a pic (as soon as I get one) of my new darker doo!

Gotta love BIG BELT BUCKLES...

Well...last night was the PBR Bull Riders Only show at the Colorado State Fair Events Center. Ray also got us tickets to the VIP party before the show (free beer). It was really great to see Murph and Donielle again...Murph is such a character and Donielle is just a lotta fun! I think Clay had a good time too! As usual, it was a good time. Strangely, when I woke up yesterday...I felt pretty good...today, I'm feeling kinda yucky again. I did start my Z-pack today, and I'm already feeling the gastic side effects, LOL...good thing I didn't take it Tues. or yesterday!! Notice I did have to take a photo with one of the riders (can't remember his name)...he's just a bebe, LOL!
